Knox enterprise – :
I recommend this Outdoor 450LM LED Floodlight with Motion Sensor for the safety and security of ALL RVers
I consider the MG1000-450 Motion RV LED Porch Light to be a necessity. I’m a single full-time RVer and I was staying at a very popular park in Orlando in 2012. Around 5am I was awakened by a loud bang. Then there was another loud bang. I was scared, really scared, and my heart seemed to be beating out of my chest. From the damage to my door, it appears they were attempting to pry it open, leaving a gouge in the metal and the door bent. I’ve had the door re-aligned, but it still isn’t right.
Thereafter, I began a quest for personal protection. I found the Starlights SL-1000 motion detector porch light and had it installed. I could keep my light on all night, without disturbing my neighbors because the light would only come on when something got within range of the door. The light wasn’t very bright, but it was bright enough to be a deterrent.
Two and a half years later the light stopped working. I found RV LED LITES at the Phoenix Good Sam rally. They tested the bulb (what I thought was wrong) which worked, so they said my house batteries were not strong enough to run the light. Then I talked to Gregg Wilson the designer of the product and gave a diagnosis of moisture getting in the unit. He showed me the new MG1000-450 motion detector. I checked my batteries, nothing was wrong with them, so I purchased the new light from https://rvledlites.com/.
WOW!! WHAT A DIFFERENCE!! Beyond being easy to install, the fixture has a 450 lumens LED bulb which is equal to a 40 watt bulb and it is truly a flood light! The light is so bright, it would scare anyone away. It lights up the site so brightly I can grill in the dark without any additional lighting. The motion detector (which is adjustable) works so when I come home in the dark and am within 35 feet of the light, my site lights up for me to see my way and get my key in the door.
I am so excited about this product. I feel such a sense of safety and security having it light the entry side of the motorhome. I recommend this product for ALL RVers. With the brightness and motion detector sensor, you will be as thrilled as I am.
farmered3 – :
Only used it this spring/summer but works as advertised and is bright! Happy so far.
Smitty – :
Love it so far. Much better quality then the Starlight SL1000 I had that died.
Karen K. – :
Great, easy to use and install!
I bought this for my mom, who has a Pleasureway Excel (E350 based Class B RV). This wasn’t a direct fit for the outdoor light that was already on the RV, but it was pretty darn close. My brother installed it, and I helped tweak the sensitivity while we were out on a 2.5 week trip this past summer. Mom loves it because the light is much brighter and “clearer” than the original light she had, plus the motion detector works great. It’s very easy to turn on (flip the switch on/off/on, and you’ll see a blue light indicating the motion detector is set, then the blue light goes out).

Five Stars!!!!!!
I’m getting lots of use out of this fixture.and will be ordering another soon.thank you.
William B – :
Worked Perfect Thank You AAA++
Matl A L – :
Great porch light. Very bright.
Robert D – :
GREAT FIXTURE!! this is my second one now I have one on my two trailers! love the the motion settings.
Matt A – :
Bigger than it looks, does the job.
This light is bigger than it needs to be, there’s a lot of wasted space in the cheap plastic housing. The LED array also rattles around a bit, even though it’s snapped into place.
One thing that wasn’t apparent from the description, ON and Motion modes alternate each time you turn the switch on. At first it seemed like you had to open it up to switch modes, luckily that’s not the case.
Tammy W – :
I give this 10 stars!
I give this 10 stars. After reading someone else’s review on her I purchased this for our RV. WE did the same as she did but replacing our outdoor light with this. WONDERFUL! Comes on when anyone walks near it. You can use it as motion or straight on. It is super bright lights up a long way outside your door. I cannot say enough good words about this. Works great and bright.
Al H – :
This is really a great lite. I really enjoy it. I should get a commission on sales of those who have seen mine and bought one.
GT – :
Very bright! Great on our RV
Joe V – :
Very bright and the motion sensor works well. Had the Starlight’s SL1000 brand on previous motor home. Like this better.
KENNETH C V – :
Easy replacement for my old “bug light” at the camper door. Thanks for your good service.
Joshua H – :
Great product! Nice upgrade
Jimmy W – :
Incredible light….I love the motion sensor
Robert D A – :
Excellent service and so far an excellent light. My rig has exterior lights high up on each side that are round. Round replacements like this for those round lights would be fantastic. they would light up the entire side.
Bob D – :
Great RV Led Light!
Reinaldo T – :
Bright!!!!!!!!
Works as a should, easy installation, brighter than anticipated which is good.
Kenneth L. H – :
As a do it your-selfer self installs are nerve racking so he walked me through installation difficulties and now installed, I really like the light because of the electric eye, and so bright, you might consider the amber lens.
James P – :
The light itself is very good. When turned on, but not yet illuminated because no one has come near, the light shows a faint green glow to show it is active. In spring weather, temps around 60 deg F, the sensor is very sensitive and can be adjusted easily.Overall, the product is excellent, though time on the road in various weather conditions will tell for sure.
Sue M – :
The light arrived before we expected it. It’s installed on our R.V. but we haven’t used it yet.
CL4P-TP – :
Look no further, this is the best motion-sensing 12v LED light on the market! This is a great light. Once I turned it on after installation back in the beginning of October (it’s not the end of May) I haven’t turned it off. The motion sensor is awesome, and I’m happy there’s an adjustment on it. I was able to have this light turn on from 300′ away sensing motion, and that wasn’t even on the most sensitive setting! It’s never missed a beat, even on those cold -40* Vermont winter days, whenever I drudged through the snow past my RV the light would always illuminate. Does a great job of detecting ambient light also, so it’s not used until needed.
I rate this thing a 10/10 and might end up getting additional ones in the future.
SKUNKWORKS – :
ENHANCED RV SECURITY LIGHTING Outstanding product for improved lighting security for my RV. Easy to install. Had to space and drill two new holes for the retrofit. Trimmed a flat 3M pliable sealing tape for the back to wall seal. Lumens and motion detection exceed my expectation. Well worth the cost. Recommend to others.
Shoot-N-Ride – :
5.0 out of 5 stars I love this light! I love this light! It provides excellent illumination during the night hours when people and critters are moving around close to my camper. Its sensitivity is perfect, and it is bright enough to see whatever is going bump in the dark without blinding you as you approach the door.
It was a simple installation, with instructions included. Buy this now!
The Cute Review – :

George M. Stahnke – :

Rick – :
Best mod to my RV so far. Very bright and rated high. Took about 10 minutes to install.
Jewls & Shan – :
Very happy It is lasting and it’s bright very great product
Fishnfool972tx – :
Works great. very bright easy install.
E Parker – :
You get what you paid for-good light at a fair price! Works as expected. Installation was not very difficult. Had to remove original light and caulking before installing new light. Removal of previous light took as much time as installation.
Nigel – :
Note that I purchased the black version of this but figured I’d post my review here as well since it seems like more people buy the white. Might help more people out. Other than color the white/black version are identical.
I got this because I wanted to add lighting to the exterior of my backyard shed. There are very few 12v lights that have the following: Good reviews, actual support that when asked a question someone answers back, motion sensing, is NOT on all the time/or dusk-dawn light, and comes in a small package.
This item seems to meet all the required specs above so I was eager to try this. My shed is running off the grid in the sense that I have a 20watt solar panel, solar controller and about 6 UPS batteries running the interior led strip lights that I have (which are controlled by an RV on/off/dimmer switch). I wanted to add this fixture to the exterior so when I walk up to the shed at night, lights come on and or if the dogs are in the backyard when they walk by the shed it kicks on and we can see them (yard is fenced in).
I modified the unit in a couple ways. I added an external weather proof on/off switch so that way I can leave the inside master switch ON, and then if I want to manually shut off one or both lights or have one ON and one motion activated I can do so. (Note that when you take the exterior lens off in the center of the PCB board is a small hole, behind it is a small momentary button that when depressed switches the modes, but it would only be useful if you didn’t have access to the hardwire power source and you wanted to change modes, otherwise one wouldn’t use that little momentary button) I also painted the external housing so it blends in with the shed color. Black/white housing would have looked bad and stood out more, so I wanted it to be as seamless as possible. (Probably voided warranty but oh well)
These are bright. I was actually quite surprised at how bright ONE unit is let alone when both units turn on. I was expecting flashlight type dim light so I am pleasantly surprised by just how bright the light is. It’s pure white light, none of that bluish/yellow output.
I’m undecided about the blinking LEDs. At night the blue/green LED is bright. Which is nice when I am on the deck I can see it, but it can be distracting. Plus part of me doesn’t like that only because that’s power that is being used (albeit a small amount, solar people have to be mindful of where parasitic drains are).
The motion sensor picks me up when I am at our fire pit which is at least 25’ away from the shed, which is awesome! I actually have to turn the adjustment down a tiny bit so they aren’t constantly turning on when we are out socializing.
M. Ferns – :
Nice security aid & Love the way it lights up the motor home at night!
Randy Kozy – :
Works very nice
C. Morris – :
Outstanding light intensity and easy installation. The motion detector also detects heat, so I’ve found that when in crowded parks or near machinery (specifically A/C units) the heat from these units can trigger it to come on so since I’m staying a few months at one park, I can’t really use it because every time my neighbors A/C turns on, so does my light LOL.
Other than that it’s great, the only thing I wish had been different is if it had the same hole pattern as the old light (SL1000) which is made by the same folks. Ended up using one of the holes and simply drilling 3 new ones.
DENNIS LOPEZ – :
The light works great and was easy to install.
Novella – :
Love my new motion detecting light! Love my new porch light. Only complaint is the sensitivity adjustment for my situation. It works great though and is super bright!
Alan Fantuzzo – :
Very bright; a little tricky to understand the changeover from porch light to motion detector, but it works well, once you figure out the “on-off” switch inside the coach. Good product.
Dave Gray – :
Very nice improvement and works as expected. Bright too. The neighbors noticed.
Bonnie M. Fletcher – :
Perfect addition to our RV.
Scott Bachman – :
As advertised. I had another more expensive model for a few years that did not hold up and was only half as bright. No issues on the install although as others have mentioned it would be nice if the back of the unit was enclosed to prevent serious water intrusion. Sealing it with putty or silicone is no big deal. Also, attempting to secure the lens with the lens gasket in place was the most difficult part of the install and took me forever. Would buy again if it gives me good service.
